Private Tuition

I offer face-to-face, one-to-one tuition in Maths for students between Year 6 and Year 11. Each session is planned around the individual student:

I can also provide small-group tuition if students would prefer to work in a group — students need to be at roughly the same ability for this to work well.

Revision Courses

5-day courses in the Easter holidays and May half term to help Year 11 students prepare for exams — revision of key points plus exam practice.

Transition Courses

5-day courses held during the summer holidays, aimed at students transitioning from Primary to Secondary school, and from GCSE to A Level.

All online courses are priced at £100 per student for 5 sessions, limited to a maximum of 10 students per course. Please email or call to book a place.

Really kind and patient, alters her teaching style to suit all levels, and helped boost my confidence in maths as well as my grade from a 5 to an 8.

Terms

One-to-One & Small-Group Tuition

Students are given a regular time slot which stays the same throughout the arrangement.

Payment

Payment is required by bank transfer or in cash at the start of each face-to-face session. For online tutoring sessions, payment must be made via bank transfer at least one hour before the session — links to online sessions are sent once payment has been received.

Cancellation Policy

At least 24 hours' notice is required for cancellations. All cancelled sessions will be offered an alternative date (this may not be possible if I'm fully booked). If an alternative date can't be found, I will charge my full hourly rate — cancellations due to bereavement or an emergency will not be charged. If a student doesn't turn up for a prearranged session that hasn't been cancelled with at least 24 hours' notice, my full hourly rate will be charged. If I need to cancel for any reason, I'll try to rearrange; if that isn't possible, tuition will recommence at the next session, and any lessons paid for in advance will be refunded in full.

Termination Policy

If you'd like to end regular tuition sessions, I require an email or phone message. If termination is requested within 24 hours of a session, the cancellation policy applies and the full fee for that session will be charged. I reserve the right to end tuition if sessions have been cancelled on a regular basis, and to offer the time slot to another client.

Online Revision & Transition Courses

Dates and times are published well in advance of a course starting.

Payment

Full payment for a course is required by bank transfer at least 24 hours before the course starts.

Delivery

Online courses are delivered via Teams or Zoom. Session links are emailed 24 hours prior to the session, and only once payment has been received. Students will need technology that lets them join the online session. Lesson content is also accessible via Whiteboard.fi — links are shared in the session chat and emailed to the student, who will need to be able to access and write on their whiteboard (a tablet or iPad is ideal). After each session, I mark the student's work on their whiteboard and email a PDF copy to both student and parent within 24 hours.

If a student doesn't log in to a session as part of a revision or transition course, there is no refund for that session — the whiteboard for that session remains accessible via email for up to 8 hours after the advertised start time. All email addresses and contact information I hold are only used for contacting students and parents as described here, or to communicate my availability.
